(June 2, 2021, Beijing, China) -- Today, the International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2021) brought to a successful close in Beijing, which is co-hosted by Beijing Chapter, Taipei Chapter and Hong Kong Chapter of the Society for Information Display (SID) and undertaken by BIE and SID China. On the closing ceremony, the presentation of CDIA awards became the most eye-catching session. Two products of Chipone attracted high great recognition of the Judging Panel and won the gold awards. Chipone’s iICNL9911C, an integrated display driver and touch chip (TDDI chip), won the Display Composition of the Year - Gold Award. iML7532, an UHR AMOLED power management chip, won the Display Component Innovation of the Year Award - Gold Award.

Introduction to award-winning products

Integrated display driver and touch chip (TDDI chip) makes the a-Si HD TDDI program-based 90Hz HFR refresh rate scheme for smart mobile devices a reality, bringing smoother experience. With TDDI chip, the sampling rate of screen can be improved from 120Hz to 180Hz, enabling more sensitive and smooth touch control experience. The optimal power consumption scheme is generated to ensure enough standby duration while the HFR display is guaranteed via real-time switch 60Hz/90Hz refresh rate. The R&D of such chips has broken the monopoly of multiple leading overseas display chip manufacturers, pushing the display IC in Chinese mainland to the same stage with international leading products.

UHR AMOLED power management chip iML7532 is applied for AMOLED notebook (NB). iML7532, the first chip supporting the series connection of four lithium battery cells in China, is suitable for NB screens for its large current up to 2A. The mass production of iML7532 will push the application of AMOLED NB screens a big step forward, breaking up the exclusive position of Korean AMOLED screen enterprises.

Comments by Technical Experts

CDIA awards are presented upon the evaluation of expert review panel composed of members from the technical committee of Beijing Chapter of SID, in a bid to commend the outstanding display technologies and products of the previous year. Award winners are selected taking comprehensive account of their novelty, excellence and breakthrough. The two awards won by Chipone this time are widely received.
